Hello.My name is Takashi Shimada and I am from Japan. I am very honored to be a part of the Associates Program at the Mortenson Center. I hope to learn a lot from this program and implement the program theme “Libraries Unbound: Open, Inclusive and Engaged”.

ABOUT ME
My goal in my career is to continuously develop my skills and experience and utilize them to work with the members around me to achieve challenging work goals and achieve positive results for the organization I work for and the environment around me.

BRIEF BIOGRAPHY
After graduating from college, I worked as a systems engineer and then as a librarian at Rissho University Library in Japan. Currently, while working as a department head in the Academic Information Department, I am also studying Library and Information Science in graduate school and working as a board member in a non-profit organization to provide programs to support university libraries.
LEARNING GOALS
1.To understand how to instruct users on the use and application of equipment in the makerspace
2.To understand the instructions on the use and application of equipment for filming and editing video
3.To understand the status of game preservation and use in the library
