Isao Nagasaka

at Hiyoshi Library

About me

Hi, my name is Isao Nagasaka. I came from Japan.I’m a librarian at Keio University Library.
I’m the assistant manager for Keio University Hiyoshi Library. I am belonging to circulation section of public service. I have been with Keio for fourteen years.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to participate in this program at the mortenson center.

Goals

I will present my findings from this program at my university library’s briefing session and at the annual meeting of Japan Association of Private University Libraries.
For this purpose, I learn the current situation of North American library while I stay in the US and want to understand what North American librarians are interested in.

I would like to clarify why maker space and system consortium are not so popular in Japan such as in th United States. Because I think these are good library activities. For this purpose, I need to understand the differences of library situations between two countries.

I would like to engage in activities that lead to international library cooperation by using the personal connections I will have created during this program. And I wish to contribute to international cooperation in the future. For this purpose, I will demonstrate the leadership I have learned in this program.
