The past three and a half weeks have been incredibly intensive and rewarding. Every day was filled with new experiences, ideas, and opportunities to learn. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone at the Mortenson Center for International Library Programs for creating such a meaningful program and for doing everything possible to ensure that we could make the most of our time, both during and beyond the scheduled activities. I am also deeply grateful to all of the librarians who generously shared their knowledge, expertise, and experiences with us.

Although the professional structures and working environments of American universities differ greatly from those in Japan, learning about American librarianship was both inspiring and thought-provoking. In a relatively short period of time, I gained insights into a wide range of library services, facilities, and initiatives. I was particularly impressed by the instructors’ presentation styles and their use of interactive teaching methods, which will serve as valuable models for my own work in instruction and learning support.

As I mentioned in my final presentation, one of the most memorable themes of the program was student well-being. Seeing how libraries actively contribute to student wellness through their spaces, services, and programs broadened my perspective on the role of academic libraries. It reinforced the idea that libraries are not only places for learning and research, but also essential contributors to a supportive, inclusive, and welcoming campus environment.

I also learned a great deal from my fellow participants. The opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences with librarians from around the world was invaluable, and I hope to maintain and strengthen the network we built during the program. The conversations, collaborations, and friendships formed over these weeks are among the most meaningful outcomes of this experience. Learning alongside librarians from diverse backgrounds, sharing both challenges and successes, and spending this time together has been truly life-changing.

Another highlight was the opportunity to visit the new library currently under construction. Seeing the project in progress was exciting, and I look forward to returning someday to see the completed building and learn how it supports the next generation of library users.

Finally, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to my home institution and the library association that supported and encouraged my participation in this outstanding program. Through this experience, I have gained an extraordinary amount of knowledge, inspiration, and encouragement. It will take time to fully absorb and reflect on everything I have learned, but I am eager to apply these lessons in my own institution and, in doing so, give back to the people and organizations that made this opportunity possible.

Although the program is coming to an end, I feel that this is only the beginning. I look forward to meeting many of you again somewhere in the world and continuing the connections, friendships, and collaborations that began here. Thank you very much for an unforgettable experience. I will miss you all!!
