I have been working at the National Library of Korea for 10 years. Including 4 years of experience in an academic library, I have been in the library field for a total of 14 years. My main responsibility is the digitization project. I scan paper books to create images and use OCR technology to convert them into text, making them available to users. This process not only helps users living far from the national library access resources more easily but also preserves old materials by converting them into digital files.

My work experience is as follows:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science
  • Master’s degree in Record Management

Work Experience

  • 2011-2014: Responsible for electronic journal subscriptions at an academic library
  • 2015-2018: Worked in the National Bibliography Department
  • 2019-2021: Worked in the Children’s and Youth Services Department
  • 2022-present: In charge of the digitization project
