The first days of the program were dazzling with so many huge buildings, well structured and a lot of technology. With access to several environments and conferences / workshops that guided us to the understanding of the need to involve the public of the library with and for activities that interest them. Without forgetting the need to preserve every available information.
Listening about the need for innovation in the classroom and the possibilities for integration, listening to the questions of the committees and the need to make the classrooms more flexible with the workshop at the CITL was gratifying. In addition to the perception regarding the preservation of information and history in all buildings visited.
For speaking in preservation, we had a show of technologies applied to the physical collections in all the libraries visited. At the Tour of Oak Street Library, I was impressed with the shelves and equipment and the new ways of working of the catalogers. In the visit to Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, once again the theme of physical preservation allied to digital, all oriented to the needs of the users, with specific audiobooks among other tools.
The staff at the Mortenson Center is amazing and has offered support at all times.
