We had a lecture entiltled “Technology in the classroom” by Susan Avery(librarian, Undergraduate library) on June 6.
She was in charge of library instruction for the undergraduate students to introduce the library. I was able to hear a variety of stories about teaching methods.
The most interesting thing was the use of Clickers.
Clickers is audience response systems and classroom response systems.
I had the opportunity to use the clicker directly while listening to her presentation.
We can vote only once using Clickers, and get the feedback from the audience in real time during the lecture.
It also has the advantage that students can vote honestly because they can vote with anonymity.
When people answered the question using the clicker, we could confirm the number of the answer. Then, when we judged that they had voted more than a majority, we can finish the vote and see the answer result in various graphs.
The National Library of korea also offers a variety of educational programs for the public and librarians. I would like to find a way to utilize the clicker for such education.
