This two part workshop was facilitated by the lively Shirley. The first session was on everything DISC, where we were helped to understand different styles, namely Dominating, Influential, Supportive and Conscientious.Everything DiSC Workplace personality profile focuses on:
- Discovering Your Style
- Understanding Other Styles
- Building More Effective Relationships
I was able to learn that my style is Si which a combination of Supportive and Influencial. Further I learned that to be an effective manager, I need to learn to be more assertive and analytical. It is important to understand other people’s styles in order to effectively work or communicate better.
The first session helped me acquire Communication skills as well as colluborative partnerships under the LLMA 14 competencies, where Leaders effectively convey information clearly and efficiently and using active listening for consistent, mutual understanding.
The second part on Change management helped me to acquire the Change management competence which is part of the LLMA competencies.
