We learned much about DiSC Assessment. This workshop was most impressive activity of the first week for me. DiSC Assessment is a method of personality diagnosis. “DiSC” is an acronym for Dominance, influence, Steadiness, Conscientiousness and everyone is categorized one of these four styles.
Dominance
Direct, Results-oriented, Firm, Strong-willed, Forceful
influence
Outgoing, Enthusiastic, Optimistic, High-spirited, Lively
Steadiness
Even-tempered, Accommodating, Patient, Humble, Tactful
Conscientiousness
Analytical, Reserved, Precise, Private, Systematic
I was SC style. I convinced that this result accurately represents my personality. All styles are equally valuable and it is useful to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the person. Although I know that there are various types of person in my team, I never thought of what their types are. By focusing on the types of them, we can notice the weaknesses of the team. We cannot force our colleagues to change their styles, but considering the weakness of the team, we can make some efforts to compensate for what is missing. I learned the method of team building through this workshop. I thought that transforming our styles considering what talents are needed for the team using limited human resources is part of leadership.
