This is one the highlights of the week. The Oak street Library facility is an off shore storage facility for materials that are not in active circulation but have to be preserved for future use. The materials are sent to the facility after running circulation statistics show non usage or materials that are over five years old. Such materials are taken to the back stacks and then later to the Oak street Library facility for storage under strict conditions to prevent damage to materials.
Materials are stored according to size and using bar codes and not class mark. The facility is very fascinating and very huge. This is a very innovative system of managing space for users, where the Library offers more of collaborative space with less physical collections.
